David Nunn for Clark

I am standing as an independent candidate in Clark because I believe this election is Tasmania’s best chance to get a truly diverse parliament, a parliament not dominated by established parties.

Community consultation and community power over big decisions that affect our state is incredibly important, and successive governments have failed at this. Conversely, I know from my own experience that many small decisions are overly complex and stand in the way of our small businesses – let’s change this balance. Let’s ensure transparency and community consultation for large projects like a cable car or an AFL stadium. At the same time, let’s clear some of the unnecessary bureaucracy that makes it hard for innovation to occur.

I came to Tasmania in 2010, and after a few stints in and out of the state (and country) mainly to find work, I returned to Tasmania full time in 2016. In 2017 my wife and I purchased the lease for the Fern Tree Tavern. A few years later we bought the pub freehold and have built it into a thriving community hub.

I’m looking forward to many more years, brewing many more beers, in Tasmania
