Climate change is a major existential threat to humanity. It affects us all and it needs all of us to fix it.
Here’s who hasn’t fixed it:
Government officials
Lobbyists
Captains of Industry
Professional NGOs
Here's who must fix it:
All of us
The good news is that history has shown that we only need 3.5% of the population to build enough momentum to influence the government.
The Local Network is advocating for Citizen Juries to be held on;
- How we transition from a fossil fuel driven economy
- What remediation actions are needed for local ecosystems to help curb our biodiversity crisis
- What we as local communities can do to help slow our current rate of species extinction
- What adaptation is required to our planning laws, so that we are building for our new climate reality including preparing ourselves as much as possible for extreme weather events.
